3-30-12: Gift......#2

Gift is such a broad topic. It could be a birthday gift, a graduation gift, an anniversary gift, but what about the intangibles? The gift of a smile from a stranger when you are sitting alone on the train? How about the operator show is friendly and kind when you don’t’ remember Mr. Donaldson’s first name, but do remember he lived on Locust street. Here’s a gift…..you forgot to pay the water bill on time, but the man who came to shut the water off gave you an hour to go pay while he went to grab some lunch. You came back with the receipt and he didn’t shut it off and you didn’t pay the re-connect fee. That is a gift!
For me personally, the biggest gift I have ever been given…………oh, no! Time is up. Who knew 5 minutes would go so fast.
Ok, so here is a gift for you, my reader, the end of my story. Sorry, Gypsy Mama, have to do it.
The greatest gift I have ever received is my salvation. Jesus Christ gave me that gift. The gift of forgiveness and eternal life with Him. The gift of the Holy Spirit, alive in me, to help and guide me on my way. The really cool thing about all those gifts He gave me was that He gave them to me all at one time! The forgiveness, salvation, eternal life, His Holy Spirit and His directions all given to me when I said, “Yes.” Yes to His gifts. I claimed I was unworthy of them and asked for them anyway and he gave them to me!
You can have them, too. Just tell Jesus you want Him to come into your life and your heart to live and rule. Tell Him you are sorry for your past living and ask His forgiveness and these gifts will be yours, too!
If you do receive these gifts, I would love to know! Post a comment telling me your “gift” story.
